Normative Information

The combustion air is adjusted by the air regulator below the glass ceramic panel. The dimension refers to the dimension between the handle and the tile stop. Figure 1 and Figure 2 specifically show the dimension.

For round appliances, the dimension refers to the distance between the handle and the full opening. Figure 3 shows the specific dimension.

To set the combustion air correctly, the air regulator must always be moved from the open position to the specified dimension.

The position of the flue gas damper is indicated as an angle. 0 degrees is considered closed. 90° is considered open. In order for the flue gas damper to be set correctly, the flue gas damper must always be moved from the open state to the specified dimension. In rare cases it may happen that the flue gas damper moves during combustion. In this case, the flue gas damper must be locked in place. Figure 4 shows a symbolic representation of a flue gas damper.

Depending on the appliance, there are different inlet openings for the combustion air. These inlet openings must not be covered when starting the combustion. Above a certain ember height, a slope is required. This is shown symbolically in Figure 5.

The aim of ignition is to generate a sufficiently high combustion chamber temperature. Depending on the appliance, there are different variants for igniting.

The aim of adding fuel is to increase the temperature of the combustion chamber. To achieve this, the fuel is added to the burning embers. Depending on the appliance, there are different variants for the placement of the logs.

The embers must be prepared according to the chapter "General information". Place the wood very gently on the embers. The logs must not be pressed into the embers. Depending on the appliance, there are different variants for placing the logs.
